Hey hey, whataya say? We had a winning day! 6-3 +7.1 units!! An extra innings loss on the Pirates as a +270 dog, the Pads/Marlins having having 6 runs through 6 and then 3 innings of scoreless ball and a comeback fell short by the Dodgers is what cost us a 9-0 day. Football-Sports Money Managers

Guys, I signed on for another football season with Sports Money Managers and will be posting all my football plays over there in a few weeks. We had our differences last year when I left, but we have resolved them and I'm looking forward to another great year! We went 223-165-9 +117 units last year in NFL and NCAAF and have gone 874-656-33 +360 units over the last 4 years....and I intend on seeing similar results this year!!

Just terrible right now. Very, very heavy on the dogs for some reason today but that's where the value is pointed so we'll see what happens. I'm still working on some totals and see a couple that I like today to add to our already huge card. A big day today and we're right back in the mix! I felt this same way last Sunday only to have the results end up bad. Maybe today is gonna truly be Sunday Funday??? Good Luck!!

You guys have seen just how terrible I've done this year in baseball so follow with caution. I'm still very confident in my selections but we've not been able to pull out the games we need to when all it takes is a hit here or a strikeout there to hold the lead or gain the lead. One play so far for this afternoon and a few more possibly to come. A lean to the Cubs early, but I just don't trust that team to make the plays necessary for a win. Good Luck!!

Ouch! Sunday did not work out like I thought it was going to. A tough loss on our Reds 3* BOMB, a blown save by Broxton and the Giants (BS call) getting thrown out at home in the 9th to win the game turned what could have been a huge day into an awful day. The talking heads are telling you how the C's have the momentum and the Big 3 have yet to show up on the same night...blah blah blah. There is a reason they haven't and aside from a 4th quarter meltdown in game 4 by the Lakers and an unusual explosion by lil Nate and big Baby...the Lakers should be up 3-1. Sorry Boston, but you just aren't as good as the Lakers and after tonight everyone will be on LA's nuts again. Enjoy your love for the next few hours cuz it all comes crashing down tonight!

Well, June has not been kind to us but I'm not going to let that deter me from plugging away. I'm confident in my #'s and know for every bad break we get we'll get a good one around the corner. We are just going to take it one day at a time and look to be back to even come the AS break. Then, the 2nd half of the season, when the Joes have more of an influence on the lines, we'll look to DESTROY the books and finish MLB well into the black just like we've done the past decade.

Fellas, I honestly don't know what to say??? I just checked the box scores and by the looks of it, the O's left 23 runners on base...a MLB record. And that is what you call being on the right side of a game (in 2 ways), but losing the wager. In our case, wagerS and costing us over 6 units! Not to mention, as I write this the Rockies just went up 2 runs and it looks like the game will be called short. They could have cut it in the middle of the 6th with the Rockies up 4-3 and the outcome would have been the same. It seems like the entire season has gone this way. I sure hope this shit starts to even out and the breaks start coming our way because I'm pretty sick and tired of waking up to find a losing day but by the box scores we are on the right side of a game or 2 that end up costing us. We are just plain running into bad luck.

Here's the deal with MLB fellas...Down 9 units is really nothing in the long run considering we ripped off almost +80 units in 2 months last year, but to be honest with you it's really pissing me off! Every time I think we got the thing turned around, we have an outing like Monday and go 0-3. I'm telling you, we are really due for a HUGE run! And today we have a nice BOMB dropping that some will tell you isn't smart. Well, the way I see it is if there is enough value on a play, I play it and the BoSox show us very strong value on the ML tonight even as -200 chalk!

Guys, I would strongly suggest getting a future play on the Lakers -175. To me, this offers up great value on a team that I just don't see losing more than 2 games in this series. I personally put down 5 units, but it is up to you on how comfortable you feel with your bankroll and if you think the Lakers are the better team for 7 games or not.

Damn!! 0-3 in MLB and all 3 games were very very capable winners. Guess that's just the cost of doing business in this racket. There are going to be nights where we come out on the right side of all 3 of those games but unfortunately last night wasn't it. On the bright side...we improved our NBA Playoff run to 63% and have now picked up +25 units. Looks like we may have another BOMB or two to be dropped tonight. I'll be back later with updates. Nice day yesterday nailing both of our 3* BOMBS in MLB and going 6-3 overall to pick up just a touch over +7 units!!

It looks like we will be backing off our 1* plays for the time being since they have really cost us in the 1st quarter of the season, not only record wise, but more importantly...units! I don't care about the record part nearly as much as the units! For the time being, I will just monitor the plays on my own and maybe look to tweak things if they don't start to pan out.

Records aren't nearly important in money line sports such as baseball and hockey because your break even point varies based on your price. If I find a dog that is +175 and my numbers dictate a 40% chance they can win that game, I'm on it every time because it is a winning proposition in the long run at those odds. My break even point is just above 36% with those odds. If I go 4-6 (40%) on dogs of +175 I'll come out a unit ahead. So, you see how records can be extremely deceiving when playing ML sports. You may find a capper touting how he is hitting 65% for the year in baseball but they may be a high chalk player. In other words, if their average play is -175, they need to hit 64% just to break even.

Just a head's up on the Yanks tonight. I know Shields has been terrible against them and Pettite seems to be throwing well this season, outstanding in fact, I hope this may be enough evidence to help you steer clear:
Pettite's last 12 starts against the Rays = 4.8 ERA, 5-4 record, Rays batting .300+

We finally met our match last night in the NBA Playoffs. In hindsight I probably should have laid off the Thunder in that situation. It was one of those times where I felt good about the young kids playing with confidence...not over confidence. Young teams tend to perform really well in that spot or really bad. Guessing which team is going to show up isn't a winning proposition and should have been a no play. I guess I got a little over confident myself with the way we've been destroying the playoffs. No doubt about it...trying to beat the books just isn't going to happen every night and can be very humbling even in the middle of a 70% run. We'll go right back to work and see if we can't make up for last night with a big one tonight! Good Luck!!

Well the NBA Playoffs have been stellar like I expected (although 7-1 is better than I'd hoped for). Anytime we have high profile events like the playoffs, NCAA tourney, bowl games etc. we can usually find some good value based on public perception. Since we have even more Joe's on the games, they influence the line even more in these situations. We'll see the same thing come MLB playoff time and just as we've been able to do in every post season, we should make a nice chunk of profit in a short amount of time.

MLB has been tough so far, but I'm confident it will turn around pretty quick. The more #'s we get under our belt, the better off we'll be. At this point in the game (28 plays) we've only just scratched the surface on the season. 6.5 units is really nothing we can't make up in a day or two considering the number of games available to us. Just sit tight and we'll have us a good 30 day stretch where we net about 50 units and get our bankroll built up.

I didn't get around to capping any early games for MLB but I did find one for later this afternoon. Remember, these are only small plays and nothing official so use the information as you see fit. While I do expect to see a profit in the first couple of weeks (or I wouldn't bet it), it will most likely be small as I start to get a feel of how things are going this season. All I can say is be very careful with the opening day home teams and the faves. That doesn't mean just bet the road teams and dogs blindly, nor does it mean you can't find value with the faves and home teams. Typically, the prices on the faves are a little inflated early on and the home teams (opening day) seem to be a little more distracted...that's all. There is plenty of baseball and absolutely no need to rush into it.

For tonight's championship game between Duke and Butler I don't think it's any secret who I like to win the game. I'm still waiting on some info to see how big I will make my play but for right now I definitely lean to Duke. Doing some checking on the total as well. I'll be back.

Kaboom! Both 3* BOMBS hit helping us to a 4-1 day +8.9 units and improving our NCAA Tourney record to 21-10 +22.7 units!!! Overall just a great day yesterday and exactly how I wanted to get April kicked off with MLB getting started and the NBA Playoffs ahead of us!

I've posted a couple of action plays for the early tips in NBA but it looks like we may have a 3* BOMB in the making for tonight where we are hitting 67% in the NBA!

I'm not going to start posting anything official for MLB since I always like to see the pitchers get a couple of starts under their belt and the players to work out any early season kinks before I start getting into anything official but I will be passing along my leans/opinions and any small personal action plays I will be taking a position on. Final Four

We finished another winning month with March picking up a little over 12 units. Nothing huge, but even 12 units of profit per month when our average play is 2 units is pretty darn good and would help me to more than double my bankroll year after year. Name me another investment that comes close to that!

On to the Final Four...The books are getting pretty even money coming in on both sides in each of the games as well as the over/under. The faves and the overs are a touch heavier which is to be expected in such high profile games where everyone wants to have a little stake in the games but nothing big enough for the books to move their lines in a significant way.

We are going to be stepping out on both games today and dropping 3* BOMBS in both match ups. Guys, the bottom line here is both games are essentially pick the winner games and in my opinion we have 2 superior teams...Duke and Butler. I'm not buying the "home court" advantage for Butler, but the familiarity of sleeping in their own beds and just being "home" does factor into the play. I hate to go against arguably the best coach in college hoops, Izzo, and the experience of this Spartan squad but Butler is just flat out the better team here. Look at it this way...Northern Iowa (my alma mater) beats Michigan State in most cases without Lucas. They just happened to have won the biggest game in the school's history a few days prior and ended up playing one of their worst games of the year against Sparty. They played terrible, missed free throws, missed uncontested lay-ups and flat out just let their nerves and the hype get to them yet it was a 2 point game with under 2 minutes left to go when Adam Koch (UNI's best player and almost 84% FT shooter) misses both free throws and then allows Michigan St to go down and make a bucket putting them up 4 with under a minute. Now we look at MSU's game in which Lucious had to hit a buzzer beater to get by Maryland. Or the 3 point win over New Mexico St. Or the melt down by Tennessee which allowed Sparty to squeak out a 1 point win. Fellas, this team has not won these games...the other teams lost them. Butler on the other hand has shown me a ton in regards to their mental ability to win games. They blew big leads in their Cuse and K-State games in which they could have easily succumb to the pressure of going up against 2 of the best teams in the nation...but they didn't! They allowed the comebacks, but regrouped in each case to go on and take back control and win the game. This speaks volumes! Butler is just flat out a better team than Sparty and with what they've shown me already in the tourney, they won't falter down the stretch like the 3 other teams Michigan St was lucky enough to encounter.

Moving on to Duke. I think you already know how I feel about this team since they were my prediction to cut down the nets before the tourney started. Too many people wrote off Duke and believed they were overrated all year long. This couldn't be further from the truth! This Duke team is typical of past teams except they actually have the post players this year. And with what I saw from Duke against Baylor's zone and team length, Duke should have no problem finding their shots against WV's zone. Matter of fact...if Duke would have made their open looks against Baylor it would have never even been a close game. And if WV wants to try and play man...good luck matching up with them. Again, we have a team that is just flat out better than it's opponent, has more experience, physically healthy and with a better coach...I'll take the Dukies laying a bucket!
